David Malazonia – Composer & Keyboardist
Co-founder of IRIAO with Buba Murgulia. Lived in Germany for 20 years; worked as Musical Head in Hamburg & Bremen theatres. Pioneer in blending Georgian polyphony with jazz and contemporary music.
Buba Murgulia – Vocalist, Percussion
Co-founder and leader of IRIAO. Founder and leader of the famous IBERI Choir. Bridges Georgian polyphony with jazz and world music.
Gaga Abashidze – Vocalist
Performs with IRIAO and Georgian choir SHAVNABADA. Known for mastery of Georgian polyphonic singing and versatility in contemporary jazz contexts.
Misho Javakhishvili – Vocalist
Member of IRIAO and Artistic Director of Rustavi Ensemble. Expert in traditional Georgian polyphony.
David Kavtaradze – Vocalist & Multi-Instrumentalist
Plays duduki, salamuri, panduri, chonguri, bass
panduri, chiponi, and doli. Member of IRIAO and
IBERI Choir. Combines vocal and instrumental
Georgian traditions with jazz/world music.
Luka Kitiashvili – Bassist, Vocalist
Recognized as one of the best young bass players in
Georgia. Provides harmonic depth and rhythmic
foundation for IRIAO’s ethno-jazz/fusion sound.
Shako Karkarashvili – Keyboardist, Acoustic Guitar, Vocalist
Blends Georgian traditional melodies with contemporary jazz/world music. Adds harmonic
depth and texture to IRIAO’s ensemble sound.
Saba Kitiashvili – Drummer
Specialises in traditional Georgian rhythms and
jazz/world music. Provides dynamic energy and
complex rhythmic layers for IRIAO performances.
